According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Covid Delta Variant originating from India is 55% more transmissible than the British Covid Alpha variant virus, and it is also 50% more contagious than the coronavirus originally found in Wuhan, China.
Medical experts mentioned that the number of infections of the Delta variant virus (R-naught) or the number of new infections that can be derived from each confirmed case is 5 to 8, while the virus found in Wuhan is 2.2 to 3.
